READ: Isaiah 40:30-31 & John 16:33 (Life Point) SHARE: Trials are opportunities for God to reveal our character and attitudes. What kind of attitudes and character were revealed in you through the trials you are facing? When faced with trials, do you find yourself responding or reacting? Talk about the difference. PRAY: Share specific trials you are currently facing. Ask the Lord to help you display his character and make good choices when you face trials. Parents, refer to the “One Conversation” page for further discussion with your children.
READ: Romans 7:21-25 SHARE: Paul is describing the struggle that growing Christians experience. We want to please God but we often find ourselves disobeying Him. Describe what this struggle looks like in your life. Read I John 1:9. What does this verse tell us to do when we do sin? Read Romans 7:24-25 again. Why does Paul give thanks here? PRAY: Thank God that even though He hasn’t promised freedom from all temptation and sin, He has promised forgiveness when we confess our sin. Ask Him to make you more like Him today than yesterday.
