Then He said to them all, “If anyone wants to come with Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow Me.

SHARE: All of us see life differently. As a result, that leads us to moments of disagreements, even when our intentions are good. The only way we can be united in heart and spirit and purpose is to be filled with and lead by the Holy Spirit. Living in peace with one another is not something we can simply work harder to accomplish in and of ourselves, but it is a working out of the Holy Spirit that lives within us. How are you positioning yourselves to be filled with the Spirit daily? Are there activities (Scripture reading, Scripture memory, Prayer, etc.) that need to become a part of your daily structure to allow the Holy Spirit to fill you daily? If so, what needs to be eliminated to make room for that pursuit?
PRAY: The Scripture says, you have not because you ask not. So, ask God to fill you with His Spirit and to give you wisdom to prioritize your life accordingly.

READ: Romans 8:18-25
SHARE: Suffering is a part of life. What are some ways that you see people suffering? When have you suffered? Pastor Joel talked Sunday about how we can be strengthened when we suffer. How does Romans 8:18 help us when we are suffering? Spend some time thinking/talking about what you think life is going to be like for us when we have new bodies in a new heaven and a new earth in the presence of God. Does thinking about that help us in our times of suffering? Why or why not?
PRAY: Praise God for His promises about our future. Ask Him to remind you often of those promises so that you don’t become overwhelmed in your sufferings. Remember those that you know who are currently suffering. Ask God to show you how you might could help them.
When we study the nature of GOD revealed to us in the BIBLE, we find that only through the Holy Spirit can we produce the fruit necessary to live in unity with our brothers and sisters in the Lord. Are you trusting and treasuring GOD supremely in your life? Is the BIBLE your primary source for Grace Living?
