Praising and cursing come out of the same mouth. My brothers, these things should not be this way.

SHARE: When faced with conflict our sin nature wants to fight back. But as followers of Christ, we are called to exercise patience and humility. Have you witnessed an example of someone displaying patience and humility which brought about conflict resolution instead of fighting back? Have you witnessed a time when patience and humility were not present which resulted in retaliation? What could have been done differently to lead towards resolving the conflict?
PRAY: Ask the Lord to fill you with patience and humility as you walk in a world full of conflict.
Parents – Refer to the “One Conversation” page for further discussion with your children.
READ: Romans 8:18-25
SHARE: Suffering is a part of life. What are some ways that you see people suffering? When have you suffered? Pastor Joel talked Sunday about how we can be strengthened when we suffer. How does Romans 8:18 help us when we are suffering? Spend some time thinking/talking about what you think life is going to be like for us when we have new bodies in a new heaven and a new earth in the presence of God. Does thinking about that help us in our times of suffering? Why or why not?
PRAY: Praise God for His promises about our future. Ask Him to remind you often of those promises so that you don’t become overwhelmed in your sufferings. Remember those that you know who are currently suffering. Ask God to show you how you might could help them.
Our world is filled with conflict – the darkness of sin and the light of the gospel. The command to all Christians is to GO into all of the world and light up the darkness, seeking to bring reconciliation between God and man. GOing into all of the world, which is a call for every believer, begins with doing everyday things with gospel intentions. (1 Corinthians 10:31) How are you GOing today?
