We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose. For those He foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers. -Romans 8:28-29

READ: Colossians 15-23
SHARE: Based on this passage of Scripture, who is at the center of all creation, the church and our lives? Why do you think it is important for us to always remember that Christ is the center of creation, the church and our lives? Are there “things” in your life that perhaps distract you or keep you from making Christ the center of your life? How can you guard your heart and mind from making anything or anyone but Christ the center of your life?
PRAY: Ask the Lord to forgive you for the times you took your eyes off of Him and focused on lesser things. Thank Him that He created you and gave you a purpose!

READ: 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
SHARE: From the verse that you read what three things are we suppose to always be doing? Are you more likely to rejoice, pray, and give thanks continually or are you more likely to complain, whine and criticize? In Numbers 11 we find the Israelites complaining and murmuring and two chapters later they are convinced that the “Promised Land” is impossible to possess. Their complaining led to 40 years of life in the wilderness. Is your attitude moving you closer to or further from God’s will for your life?
PRAY: Ask the Lord to forgive you for any bad attitude that you may have had. Ask the Lord to help you be a person whose life is marked by rejoicing, praying, and giving thanks.
Perhaps you would even say to Him today, “Here I am, send me.”
READ: Psalm 97:1-12
SHARE: In this passage we see an amazing display of almighty GOD. What is the response of the mountains when faced with the presence of GOD? Take some time and discuss some “mountains” in your life that you want to see melt before almighty GOD. In verse 6 it says that all the peoples see His glory. What is your response when you find yourself in the midst of the glory of GOD?
PRAY: As you pray, humble your heart before God. Thank Him that He is omnipotent (all-powerful). At the same time this all-powerful God desires to know you in a very personal way. Praise Him for that truth!
