Serve with a good attitude, as to the Lord and not to men.
Sunday School Conversation
READ: Hebrews 13:5-6
SHARE: You may have heard it said, “Money makes the world go round”. Do you agree or disagree? Why? Would others think of your family as generous? Talk about ways that your family gives to the Lord’s work? Often, people are hesitant to give generously because they are worried if there will be sufficient resources to meet their own needs or the needs of their family… which ultimately is expressing a lack of trust in the Lord. What does this passage teach us so that we can become more generous to God’s kingdom work?
PRAY: Ask the Lord to free you from any grip that the “love of money” may have on you and the ability to trust the Lord, so you can freely contribute to the Lord’s work.
Parents – Refer to the “One Conversation” page for further discussion with your children.
READ: John 19:25-27
SHARE: As He hung on the cross, Jesus was still showing concern for not only His mother but also for His friend John. Family is important to Jesus. He created the family. Here in John 19 Jesus also models for us what caring for our family members looks like. Do you think God is pleased with the way that you are demonstrating love toward your family members? Why or why not? What if anything do you need to do differently? What about the way you are caring for your fellow church members? Is He pleased with that?
PRAY: Ask God to forgive you for times when you didn’t care for your family or for your church family the way you should have. Ask Him to help you be more interested in the well-being of the people around you than you are your own.

READ: John 3:16, Romans 6:23
SHARE: The gospel story and the call to SALVATION is based on God giving the greatest and costliest gift ever given… His Son Jesus. Together retell the gospel story and talk about why God sent Jesus from heaven to earth. Discuss what it means when we talk about “being saved”? (Parents: This could be a perfect opportunity to make sure your child understands the gospel on a level that makes sense to them. Be prepared to respond to questions this may stimulate).
PRAY: Praise God for His great gift of Jesus and the salvation from sin that He offers. Thank God for the Gospel work taking place through the ministries of Grace Life.
