SHARE: Work looks differently for all of us depending on our stage of life … in the marketplace, in the home, in school, etc. Talk about what work looks like for each family member? Does whom you are working for change how you work? Discuss how differently you might work if you kept in mind that you are ultimately working for Christ and for the Father’s glory? Does how you work point others to Christ?
PRAY: As you pray, invite the Lord to use your work to bring Him glory and to enable you to work in a way that displays the presence of Christ.
Parents – Refer to the “One Conversation” page for further discussion with your children.
READ: Luke 23:32-43
SHARE: From the story of the thief on the cross we learn that it is never too late to turn to Jesus to be saved. We also learn that even the worst among us can be saved at the very last moment. Have you ever thought that someone was “too far gone” to be saved? The thief’s salvation reminds us that we should never think that way. We should never stop praying for people to be saved and we should never stop sharing the gospel with them no matter what they have done.
PRAY: Thank the Lord for the simplicity of the gospel – that we are saved simply by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. Like the thief we don’t have to do anything to be saved except call on Jesus in faith to save us. Praise God for that truth. Ask Him to direct you to somebody with whom you can share the good news of the gospel.

SHARE: From this story, discuss how your WORSHIP and your work can and should connect. Remember it’s not an either–or, it’s a both-and. Jesus wants us to see our work as WORSHIP and our WORSHIP in our work. Read Matthew 20:28 and talk about the example Jesus has provided.
PRAY: Express your gratitude to God for the work He has for you to do. As you pray, submit your work (no matter what that is) to the Lord and ask Him to give you the right attitude so your work will to bring glory to God.
