Our Story

OUR PAST

If you’re like most people, you may think it strange that a church is named Loveless Park. However, once you know a little about our history, you’ll understand. In 1943, eleven families began meeting together in their homes to study the Bible. At that time, our small community was known as Loveless Park in honor of the Loveless family who established it. Naturally, the church was named for the community to which it ministered. Over time, these families began dreaming of a church being formed right there in their small community. Now, more than 66 years later, that dream lives on as hundreds of families gather each week from all around the Bessemer/McCalla area to worship and grow in their relationships with Jesus Christ. Though we have grown considerably since 1943, it still feels like “family” around here. Whatever the season of life you find yourself in, you will find friends, fellowship, and opportunities to serve and grow in God’s Kingdom at Loveless Park.

OUR FUTURE

Many churches face the temptation to play it safe and protect all that God has provided, but our work has really just begun. In the next five years, thousands of homes will be built all around us. God, in His sovereignty, has placed us in a position to reach out to the thousands of people soon to be in our back yard and point them to Jesus. In our effort to meet the needs of our current church family and as well as those just now moving into our community, we have begun planning new facilities at our Shadow Lake property. We are uncertain of what shape these facilities may take and even the timeline in which they will be built, but we trust God supremely as he leads us in the coming years.
