“Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.” -James 1:27. Our orphan care ministry brings together a diverse group of people with the common desire to serve the foster and waiting children in our community and worldwide. We want to attend to the fatherless by raising awareness of their current needs, providing support to families of adopted and foster children, commitments to pray for them, and connecting these children and families to the life and love of Christ. Sav-A-Life Bessemer ministers to young girls experiencing trauma as a result of an unexpected pregnancy or abortion. They offer a Pregnancy Test Center, Preparing For Your Baby classes, and Abortion Recovery Ministry. We sponsor the Sav-A-Life baby shower for mothers who have come through this ministry by providing food and diaper bags. There is an ongoing need for volunteers to assist this ministry in a variety of ways. For more information contact Marilyn Montgomery.
Our church networks with other churches in the area to reach our school campuses for Christ through First Priority. Many of our students and our director of student ministries meet several times a week at McAdory High & Middle Schools to seek how God would use us to reach our schools. For more information on our local First Priority campus ministries, contact Bryant Frederick. (need link to his email)
We also work closely with the Bessemer Baptist Association on mission projects throughout our city.
