You Want Me to Make What?

There have been times in my life when I set out to accomplish a task, but the instructions were not real clear. Those are always challenging situations to find yourself in. What do I do? When do I do it? Why do I have so many extra pieces left over? Now when it comes to…

Engage the Grey Matter Between Your Ears

Blind faith is an amazing thing. The perfect example of this is when a child leaps off a high point into the arms of their father, knowing that their Daddy is going to be there to catch them. What a beautiful picture of childlike faith and trust. As followers of Jesus, we are called to…

A Witness

The dictionary defines a witness as: “One who can give a firsthand account of something seen, heard, or experienced.” Jesus told his followers (Acts 1:8) “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witness in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end…

How long have you served at Grace Life?

I have served on staff at Grace Life since September 2002.

Where are you from?

I was born in Mobile, AL. When I was 14 my family relocated to the McCalla area.

Who is in your family?

Brandi and I have been married for almost 17 years. We have three beautiful daughters: Christian, Bailey, and Addison.

How did you come to a relationship with Jesus?

I was raised in a Christian home so I grew up hearing the gospel. I accepted Christ into my life and was baptized at age 10.

How did God call you into vocational ministry?

I first began in ministry as a volunteer teacher. After several years of volunteer ministry the Lord began to move my heart toward vocational ministry.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Of course, family time is where I spend most of my spare time. My girls are active in various sports. Brandi and I enjoy playing various sports as well.
I try and play racquetball a couple of times a week. Brandi and I also enjoy running. Well truthfully we enjoy eating, so we run so we can eat!

What’s your favorite Bible verse?

My favorite Bible verse are the reassuring words of Jesus in John 16:33 – “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

What have you watched, read or listened to lately that you’d recommend to others?

My favorite author is John Piper. I would recommend any of his books. All of them have challenged me in one way or another.
Another favorite of book of mine is Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis. I try to read at least a portion of it each year. Currently I am reading for the second time a book by Francis Chan called Crazy Love. I would recommend it to anyone as well.
I also enjoy listening to sermons by John MacArthur. I believe he is one of the strongest theologians of our time.
