The Southern Baptist Convention is a network made up of over 45,000 churches and about 16 million members all over the world. It’s the largest network of Christian churches in America and includes many races, nationalities and ethnic groups. Worship services are held in over 110 languages. The SBC baptizes over 1,000 new Christians a day in the U.S., and starts nearly five new churches a day, making it one of the fastest growing denominations in the world. Each SBC church is completely independent with no denominational control or hierarchy. Each SBC church is self-governed, chooses its own pastor, owns its own assets, and determines its own programs. Grace Life voluntarily affiliates ourselves for the purpose of accomplishing the Great Commission and to identify ourselves with other Christians around the world who share our same beliefs and interpretation of the Bible. The SBC has no man-made creed. The Bible is our sole authority. Every year, over 100,000 Southern Baptists participate in short-term mission and disaster relief projects all over the world. The SBC trains over 12,000 vocational ministers each year through our six seminaries. Our “Cooperative Program,” supports over 9,000 career missionaries in 125 countries in the largest missionary organization in the world. Our affiliation with the SBC also allows us to be a part of LifeWay Christian Resources, the largest publisher of religious materials in the world, sending resources to over 70 countries.

The Birmingham Metro Baptist Association who is a voluntary, cooperative effort of 180 local churches working together to serve our city through local mission projects that can go beyond our individual efforts. We are on mission to build the Kingdom of God across Metro Birmingham and beyond.
